I have been collecting info about places where we can voice our opinions about a Fred vote, and then posting them in the 'getting the word out' thread.
What I need to know is.... does anyone actually use the info I'm posting or am I wasting my time?

David-people who I had written to, close friends mind you, who had told me they planned on voting for fred, did not. I know because I can add up the numbers in my county. I questioned a couple this morning and I got excuses. Even if every one of the 17 members of this board wrote a letter to the LA times or atlanta journal constitution, I'm thinking it won't make a difference. Here's why I believe that:
I was on fred08 and f08r---so were you as I recall. Those were suppose to be true fredheads. People that actually believed in what the man was talking about. And within a week most of them were pushing romney, then eyeing currey. they claim to be tru-fredheads because they won't let huckabee, mccain, or paul supporters on board - just the candidates they deem are the right ones. Rather than send a message through their votes, they like most of the other real fredheads are holding their noses and voting for someone else. The point of all this is --if "true fredheads" were so quick to turn the corner, how much sway will you have with someone who was only mildly interested in Fred or couldn't care less if they vote or not.
Check the game plan..Last night mccains delegates ran to huckabee, just so romney couldn't win in one state. So the "tru fredheads" who voted romney didn't do any good - Romney still lost. MCain's people saw to that. In order for the write in movement to take place ALL of fred's core supporters needed to help with the letter, phone, newspaper campaign. Five or ten bloggers or message boards just aren't going to cut it.
There are still several states left to vote. But if he didn't pull double digits in TN(the one state where he was suppose to) its a nasty uphill battle. Just so you know' I'm not giving up.
PS - has anyone heard from lshaw? We had tornadoes in TN yesterday and I know she lives here in the volunteer state. Haven't seen her on the board today. Hope she is safe.

tnpi...
Gosh, I hop[e she is OK. The last time I had contact with her was 2 nights ago when she was helping me with putting a banner on the forum (whcih I still can'tr get to wrok). I will say an extra prayer tonight just for her.
As to what you said about the voters... It saddens me that so few people stand by their convictions. Maybe it is time to start looking at another party. The GOP seems to have very limited time.

Hey I'm here & ok. I had to be out most of the day dealing with downed trees and all the mess that comes with storms like this for the 2nd time in a week.
As for the other question, I'm not sure right now. I have posted to a lot of papers, message boards & other places and gone back & found that my posts have disapeared and that in a lot of places I have been a member of I can no longer post (Chattanooga Times Free Press for one). I haven't spammed anyone either, and the message changes a little to identify with the topic I post to.
I can also understand the fear of some who have got to vote for "any" candidate but Mc......, but for myself I don't think Fred is comming back. I wasn't voting for a man when I voted after he left. The ideals are what I voted for and if the man with them came back, then that would be good - if not it didn't matter.
A lot of people out there don't know what it means to have one "set" of principles. They have been conditioned to be like sheep and follow a crowd instead of being different and standing out. That's what we're running into I think. People who say one thing to shut you up so they can follow the crowd and fit in.
My 17 year old asked me this morning if I was going to take the Fred stickers off my truck and I told him no they were staying until they rotted. He asked me if I thought he would be back and I said no. Also, why I voted for him after he had dropped out and I told him I voted for what he stood for (no I don't think he was perfect) & not the man. I think he understands. Most people do not.

I thank God you're safe, and I thank your conscious for your principles. I noticed the tennessean did a "poll" on voters right before the election. They asked a lot of people. Surprisingly, none said they were voting for or had voted for Fred. I guess they only interviewed people who were voting for those who had made up their mind about a candidate still spending ad dollars. I noticed no undecideds, or dropped out candidates - Tancredo, Hunter, Kucinich, THOMPSON! Golly geee, were those reporters lucky or what??

Of course they were all hand picked before the interview I know of one local kid in school over near the Union school that lost 2 students. He's walked out of school for now to help search for survivors. One of his room mates lost their house and another at least one his parents.

Wow, glad to see you are OK! My prayers will go out tonight for your neighbors.
If even just one person like yourself is taking advantage of the links I'm leaving then I will continue.

Hopefully others here are doing it as well as they read online and see something to respond to.
